What is the difference between systematic errors and random errors? And how do we reduce each in experimental practice? (AS-level, AQA spec A, if that's relevant)

Neither seem to give very nice answers. They offer definitions for systematic and random error but I don't really understand them, and they don't say anything about reducing these.
