I went to the Optician's on Sunday and my Dad (he tested me) said I'm shortsighted in 1 eye only.

Not sure why this is but he thinks it can't be hereditary so must be from looking at a computer (I do spend a long time at a screen)

As my other eye was perfect, he said I don't need glasses yet.

Want I want to know is, will continuing to look at a screen damage my eye further and, if I get glasses, will I have to cut down on my PC usage?

    Cheers

You should ask him? Although it might do. I went for an eye test a year ago and they said everything was completely fine and I didn't need them. I've now recently just had one and they've actually told me I need distance glasses (I use the computer almost everyday). It might be different for everyone but I would ask just to make sure they don't get worse!

Yeah that's what I thought! I know everyone is different so it might not be the computer for me but I'll keep asking him to check for me!

You won't damage your eyes by using them. Straining them might cause you some issues though.
