The very last bit of question 8 why is it not just (5/6)^9 (1/6)?

(5/6)^9 * (1/6)

Oh that is what you put, what's the answer?

Oh right, we've assumed that when he throws it, it's a six.

However, on his third throw,.it can still not be a six. So you have to carry on. Up until (5/6)^12 * (1/6) because if the six hasn't been thrown by then, he'll have thrown ir 4 times.

Make sense?

Ohhhhh right! makes sense yeah, it's all in the wording! And this is why I don't like stats. Thank you.

No problem, if I was thrown thrice by him and it was a six. Then it'd be what we initially said.
