I've been thinking for quite a long while about changing the spelling of my first name, and my last name entirely. First off because I don't particularly like them, secondly because I'm tired of explaining the spelling (it uses scandinavian alphabet).

The problem is, that I'm graduating pretty soon, and I've heard that the diploma can never be edited. I've already applied, and been offered places, with my current name, into a few universities. If I change my name in the summer, or during my MA degree, will this pose a lot of problems? I can think of many, but as I know next to nothing about this, I thought it'd be great to hear from other people that do know something about this. If it becomes too much of a bother, I suppose I'll just keep what I've got, but ideally, a change would be great.

Also not sure if this is the correct forum for this, apologies.

It shouldn't be a problem as long as you can prove you are who you say you are. Proof of a name change (deed poll), new passport (if possible), bank statement, etc.
