Drunken Thug Who Battered Girlfriend Made Her Face 'Explode Like an Airbag' Walks Away with Community Service Despite Probation

    http://www.capitalbay.com/headline/3...probation.html

A thug who attacked his girlfriend in the street has walked free from court after magistrates told him a community sentence is ‘tougher’ than prison.
This guy was already on a suspended sentence for a previous assault... fool the justice system once, shame on him, fool them twice, shame on them? :lolwut:

Forgetting the fact that he was on a suspended sentence and should now be in prison the magistrates claimed drink was his problem then sent him on anger management but not any alcoholics group .

An anger management group? Surely a secure mental hospital for assessment would be the more obvious choice?

I'm perfectly willing to accept that community sentences are hard, but they are only daytime punishments. If he is going out in city centres, getting drunk and fighting even with his own girlfriend then he clearly needs to be taken out of that situation for a fairly considerable period of time.

He deserved to be beaten up like he did for that poor girl. Punishment must be completely equal to the crime that was committed.

The court should be dismissed for such pathetic punishment.

I think jail time would be more appropriate, also he needs to be glassed with a bottle a few times.

wow he paid her £750 compensation...well that makes it all better.

Obviously a failure of our legal system, and common sense - put dangerous people in prison, even if it means we end up putting people like Huhne and Pryce on community service to make room for them.
