I was just wondering how much it would cost for this sort of statistical information, is the ons part of public spending? How much does the UK govt spend on national statistics roughly? I was just curious as in my mind it is something that could be cut back on, administrative costs seem to be huge in the public sector so I was wondering if inefficient methods are being used to collect the data or inflated salaries are being paid, or both. Would be grateful to hear peoples opinions on this area
