    Hi,
I'm an EU student planning on firming a university which is in England, but insuring a university that is in Scotland. So, do I have to apply through both SFE and SAAS for student finance, or just SFE?
If I apply to SFE only and then don't make the offer, can I then apply to SAAS in August? Or should I apply to both now just in case I miss my firm choice?

    Thank you

    Hi Aero,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this one!

If you have been resident in England for 3 years prior to 1 September 2013 you should apply to SFE regardless of whether you are studying in England or Scotland. Similarly if you've have been resident in Scotland for this length of time you should apply for SAAS regardless of where you study.

If you have not been in the UK for 3 years then you need to apply to SAAS if you study in Scotland and SFE if you study in England.

It is important to note that you cannot apply to SAAS and SFE at the same time so you should choose the course that you are most likely to study and apply to either SAAS or SFE depending which country the course is in.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you. If for whatever reason I missed the grades for my firm choice, could I apply for student finance for my insurance in August when results come out?
