Our teacher hasn't given us the slightest explanation as to what they are, just that we are required to hit them all if we want a good grade. She says things like ''Not enough AO3" when marking our essays but doesn't expand on it at all. Does anyone here know exactly what they are, or can you point me in the direction of a good explanation? This is really important as I'm currently doing coursework and it'd be a big help with achieving a high grade. Thank you!

I think that the AO's are pretty much the same for all boards but I'm not 100%
For AQA it is as followed:

AO1 - your ability to write coherently and clearly and use of literary terms
AO2 - I believe AO2 is analysis of language/form/structure and how it shapes meanings
AO3 - your consideration of alternative interpretations
AO4 - context - background information about the text
