Hi, I've been having a problem with my PCs sound which I can't figure out how to fix.
A couple of days ago I got back after dinner and my PC had the 'audio is not working sign' and it wasn't making any sort of sound when i tried to play games, music etc. I first tried testing the speaker system on my laptop which worked fine. After looking in the control panel it said the multimedia controller was not working properly so i ordered a new sound card. The sound card I ordered is compatible with my specs so i installed it along with the driver software that came with it.
The audio still doesn't work and is still displaying the not working sign except my computer has detected my new sound card and no longer says the multimedia controller is not functioning. I can't think of what could possibly be wrong with it? Other than this my computer has works perfectly, its just annoying because im home for easter for 5 weeks now. I think i installed it alright, as long as plugging the sound into the sound card and putting the sound card into the PCI solt is the only thing you have to do. Just can't think of how to fix this.

Go control panel - sound and have a look at the devices in the list, your speakers should be listed, make sure they are the default device and enabled.
