looking through my lecture notes and feeling really confused lol. can anyone clear up why there are 2 parts to each of these circuits (parallel and series). in the AND example, why is just the top half of the circuit not enough (same with OR)? hope i'm not asking too much, my lecture notes don't explain it - they just show these diagrams >_<

i thought a series circuit corresponds to AND and parallel corresponds to OR?

thanks in advance for any help!
