Line on pregnancy test the wrong way around...

Hi,
Um I took a pregnancy test just now and got some strange readings.
The first box is a control one and you expect to see a vertical line if it worked
The second box is the test where you also see a vertical line if the test is positive or no line if not.
If there are no lines then the test is invalid.

The control box I got a vertical line, and the test box I got a horizontal line. Is that a positive or a badly produced test?

I was only taking one because my period is late but didn't actually think it was likely that I am pregnant.

Anyone else had this happen to them? Shall I get a better test?

I'd suggest using a different brand if test to confirm one way or another.
Was it a very cheap testing kit, or not?
Generally, they can tell you you're not if you are, but not that you are, if you're not. I'd get another one done if you want to be sure.
I'd try a different brand personally.
