Please keep anon because I'm describing a girl who goes on here and how embarrassing would it be if she knew I wrote this about her haha.

There is this girl I know who is just so authentic and confident and I really admire that. She attracts loads of people to her (guys and girls) and she's just captivating. Even the teacher will spend lots of time talking to her compared to other students and she is just really popular with people. As soon as she talks to someone they instantly like her.

It sounds creepy but I've been trying to think why she's so popular because it's something I think we'd all like to be like. I've realised that she is just authentically herself and it's such a rare thing that when people come across her they're hooked. (I mean her personality has sparked this thread fgs haha).

How do I be authentic and my true self when I'm quite shy? It just seems so free and easy for her as she doesn't worry about what people think or anything. There's no awkward small talk because she'll go straight into treating you like a friend already.

There's a reason she stands out, it's because not many people are like that. Not many people can be like that.

I think you've got to be really sure of yourself, not in a stuck up way, but so you're not self-conscious. And you can't be authentic by trying to be authentic.

it sounds like she's got confidence more so that being authenticity to me. just being yourself and not changing is the only real way to be authentic
