At the general election, UKIP might poll a decent level of the vote but they're not going to get far seat wise I imagine.

As ever, their lack of concentrated support will be the issue. They consistently get a good percentage of the vote, but it's too spread out to translate in FPTP.

It's not even that (though you are right that this is likely to be significant). It's just not very likely that their predicted success in by-elections to come and the European elections will translate in to success at a national election that people actually care about.

Of course, the people who don't care about the EU elections fall into two groups. There are the uninformed, who think that it doesn't matter who they vote for, and the well informed, who know it doesn't matter who they vote for.

    You're not?

Then I may have made a slight boo-boo in organising your funeral. There'll be clowns - you can't spell funeral without fun.

Good news though- it means we can still nationalise them if they're not dead yet.

But it means they can put up a fight - it's far easier to nationalise a corpse.

Valid point but corpses can't moan about nationalisation if we nationalise them I guess we always have the tories :sigh:

Ironically, we demand a state funeral.

Ironically? Don't you generally demand the state's funeral?

Is it semantics? Are the Libers the alarm clock for some greater right-wing party to awaken?

Nope. We wish the death of the state to pass unremarked and unmourned.

Exactly how us sensible types would like to see a certain lady's death pass.

Instead we'll have rolling news coverage, fantasy obituaries, and a state-sponsored funeral cortege.
