If I went through UCAS Extra and applied for a subject in single honours that I was rejected from for combined honours, would it be treated as an entirely new application as opposed to an application for a course I've already been rejected from?

Usually with joint honours degrees, both departments look at it and make their own decision. Sometimes if you were rejected by one department but accepted by another they would give you a changed course offer where they just offer you a place for single honours. I'd be inclined to ring the admissions tutor for your subject and ask them what your chances are as it could be likely that it's a straight out no.

Check you fulfil the admissions requirements and phone the relevant course contact (dont email if you want a quick answer).

PS, Most Unis will be shut now until at least Tuesday.
