Should I buy a second hand 600D? Don't want to spend the full amount because I can't really afford it and I can't justify it. I have seen some alright second hand ones on eBay, and want to know if you think this would be an ok thing to do

    Thanks

How cheap are they going for?

You can get a new one for £400

Around 300-350ish - I've decided it would be more worthwhile to just get a new one

As far as I'm aware the only difference between the 550d and 600d is the flip screen viewfinder. I would save the money and go for a used 550d, unless you really want that flip screen ability, which is only really useful on a tripod.

Second hand is fine as long as there isn't any critical damage to the body, i.e. the sensor. Bodies these days are reasonably sturdy but remember you wont get magnesium alloy in the 600d ( no metal inside the plastic cover).

Lenses are more of a concern second hand really, you really need to inspect the elements inside the lens are clean.

IF you're using it for video at all the flip out screen is worth it.

Yeah, I'd probably be using it for video a lot so the 600D will be beneficial
