Hey guys just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Im hoping to go university this September for the first time and Ive decided to stay at home and commute to university instead BUT Im really going to need some financial support. Is it okay to say Im moving out (private accomadation) even though Im not to apply for maintenance loan? Or is that entirely illegal and crazy? loool

Um, that's the sort of thing that could get you denied any student finance whatsoever.

If you say you're living away from home when you're not, you can get in big trouble, as it's fraud.

If you're living at home you'll still get a Maintenance Loan and Grant. You'll just get a little bit less than if you were to live in halls. (Though it still depends on your household income).

The grant will be the same amount wherever you live.
