I always wondered whether examiners see the candidate's name and/or School before he/she marks the papers and whether they judge candidates by their handwriting?

I'm fairly certain they don't, and you'll only lose marks due to handwriting if it's so bad that it's actually illegible in parts.

hey i'd like to bump this too for a second opinion...........reason being, the head examiners used to be my ex tutors and im now sitting exam privately at a different college. i'm sure it wouldn't have a negative impact, but still would be interesting to know.

I highly doubt it, i think they only see the candidate number
