Just wondered if there are any other mature students hoping to go to Queen Mary this September. I'm 22, will be studying English, and living in halls... Would be nice to meet a few others

Yo yo yo yo yo. It looks like we're both in the same boat. I've just firmed Queen Mary to read English, I'm 22 and I'll be living in halls. My friend is in the same situation as well. We'll both be coming across from Bristol in September, but he's dithering over whether to choose UCL or Queen Mary. Something to do with the year abroad ...

I'm also 26 and will be starting at Queen Mary in the fall! I'm going to be in Computer Science and would love to meet people I was told yesterday at an open day that there are very very few mature students in my programme, so it'll be a challenge haha. I'm hoping to live near campus but not on it.

I'll be 25 when I start and will be living in halls. My main worry is the cut-off age for what the accommodation service considers to be mature. They try to place adult students together in halls, but if their cut-off is 24/25 then I might end up being placed with a bunch of 18/19 year olds. No offence to them but when I was that age (OK it wasn't even that long ago) everyone I knew was more into partying and wasting time. I don't want to be plunged into that again!

I'm 24, Canadian, and I'll be studying Law. I'll be living in halls and can't wait to meet some people (I don't know anyone outside of North America). I'm glad there are others that are afraid of getting stuck with 18 yr olds as well... although I tend to act like one the odd chance I go out lol.. But seriously, I hope I get put with all of you smart, funny, and good looking people

I'm a very mature student at 44 and have an offer to read English at QM. Just trying to decide which uni is the best fit for me. I like lots of things about the university but, after visiting during the recent Open Day, I'm not sure how mature student friendly it is. I mean, for people like me with lots of commitments at home.

Anyway, nice to meet you all. I might see you in September.

I'm not considered that mature as I am 20 years old but I feel that I'm a mature student as I have lived away from home and abroad and was worried about having to socialise with new school-leavers (no offence to those!) I would much prefer to live with adults, but we shall see!

I'm 21 and I'm starting BSc Computer Science in September. I'll be living with my parents (for the first year at least, then I'll see).

I started a different degree a few years ago up north when I was 18 but I had a bit of a breakdown and packed it in.
