Hi, am going round in circles trying to decide whether should be on campus or at Greenbank! Been put off by stories that buses can be unreliable from Greenbank if need to get in for 9am lectures but Vine Court sooooo expensive! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please could any current vet students also recommend whether should go catered or non catered. Want to be somewhere really social in 1st year...grateful for any help. Thanks

Hey, I am an undergraduate student and I am going to start on September Vet at Liverpool ! I am on the same boat but I went to the PAVD recently and I spoke with the students ambassadors. I agree with You regarding Vine Court! It's quite expensive and I didn't like it too much for the facilities that offers. Honestly I decided that I am going to apply for on campus accommodations, self catered, en suite. My favourite is Liberty Park, otherwise I may choose Prospect Point or Melville Grove. I consider to be on campus is the best solution for Us Vet students to be close to the Harold Cohen Library and too the Veterinary Science department as well. I don't think to go miles away at Greenbank would be the best choice.
This is my personally opinion :-)

Your comments make sense to me but I still don't seem to be able to make up my mind! I want to be with non vets in first year and have the opportunity to socialise, in which case I keep coming back to Greenbank!! Hopefully I will actually be able to make a decision soon that I can stick to........
good luck with exams over next few months.

Thank You very kind! Good luck to both of Us !!!! Is Liverpool your firm ? Haha this depens on You ! It depens from which facilities are You looking for if catered or self catered, en suite or shared bathroom. I've heard (and read) that the on campus accommodations have a high percentage of international and postgraduate students (Mulberry Court and philharmonic court are reserved for postgraduate students only). But I don't think this will be a problem, I believe that all the Halls are sociable and I want to stay in the city centre close to everything! And You have to consider not only the distance of Greenbank from the UoL but also the tickets for the bus that You would have to pay if You go there. And I was looking at the cost per week of the accommodations at Greenbank...

    Greenbank:
    Catered basis: £124.60 per week
    Catered Ensuite: £140.70 per week

    Self-catered basis: £90.30 per week
Self Catered Ensuite: £102.20 per week

In comparision with e.g. Liberty Park
Self-catered ensuite standard room - £98 per week
Self-Catered ensuite double room - £103 per week

Liberty Prospect Pointelf catered ensuite standard room - £98 per week
Self Catered ensuite double room - £103 per week

    Melville Grove:
    40 week contract: £90.42 size A
    40 week contract: £95.55 size B

    Opal Court:

Self Catered ensuite room - £106.05 per week

So Greenbank seems to be quite expensive as Vine Court (that is on campus)
Calculating £102,20 and extra money for the tickets... Uhmm for how much beautiful it could be, will worth it? Could be a waste of money going to Greenbank...
When You think the accommodation Office will sent to Us the invitations through email for select our favourite Halls? :-)

I'm completely lost with this too!
Know I want to go catered, but don't want to be missing out on socializing with non-vets or having trouble getting in for lectures

Im exactly the same! And the problem of a longer journey at either end of the day when we have 9-5 lectures anyway does not appeal to me! I want catered too, sociable, and obviously with a good mix of people...but I also will hopefully be doing girls rugby and will want a gym and pool close by too...so thats why i was thinking vine court...

    argh I'm so confused!!!
