pigs as donors

My teacher told us that pigs are genetically modified not to have cell surface antigens so that once their organs are transplanted into organs they aren't rejected. And in my textbook it says that pigs are genetically modified to lack the enzyme a-1,3-transferase, is this the enzyme that causes cell surface antigens to be synthesized? It also says that 'engineering of human nucleotidase enzyme into pig cells in culture reduced the activity of a number of immune cell activities involved in xenotransplantation rejection'. What does this enzyme do exactly?
