Hi guys. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the craic is with regards to getting course books and texts through DSA. When I had my Needs Assessment, I was told that I would be entitled to buy books and texts for my course through my DSA General Allowance. Will I be able to buy any type of book for my course and claim the money back? Or will I only be able to buy approved books for my course so to speak?

    It's usually non-core text books.

That is what I thought, however, on the paperwork which was filled out after my Needs Assessment, it just said books, so I was wondering if it was course books in general or like you said, non-core books.

You can only claim for non core text books.
I had to list them with receipts and get the list countersigned by my tutor that they weren't core books.

I just sent my receipts from amazon and presto! Didn't need counter signature, PS even if they're on a book list fro university... doesn't mean they are CORE! Possibly just recomended reading

How does it with with regards to receipts? Do you send you're receipts in, in one go at the end of the academic year, or at the end of term/semester?
