    In what context do we have to use knowledge of Newton's law of cooling in order to set up a differential equation....is it when temperature's are involved? any hints would be really useful thanks!

    You don't actually have to know anything about specific applications. The question will give you all you need to construct the differential equation and solve it in the usual way.

    Remember, they just want to know if you can extract the maths from wordy paragraphs.
