Hey, I've got a clio 02 sport and wondering does the built in CD player play mp3 tracks? It be nice if it played DVD discs (with music on) but pretty sure it doesn't do that. Does anyone know before I go and burn a disc? Cheers.

Unlikely if it's a CD player from 2002.

I just rip CD's to my phone or use Spotify, and connect the phone up to the AUX on the head unit for my music listening in the car.

Head units aren't that expensive. You could get a decent one for around 30-40 I'd say that could play MP3 discs.

I doubt your standard affair one will play MP3 at all. Just CD.

Bare in mind you might also need a facia panel and a wiring adaptor as well.

They are usually fitted at the same time if you go to a specialist, and they don't cost much.

I had an entire audio system put into my car; subs, mids, and tweeters. Fantastic sound

I have an 02 Clio with CD player and I often burn my own CDs to listen to. They turn out in excellent quality. Good investment!

To answer OP clearly, yes it does play MP3 files off a burned CD. It will play any burned CD, but not data disc CDs.

I agree, no point wasting £30 when you can get a new unit that comes with an AUX input for the same price.
