Newcastle Dress Code?

Right its my birthday on Saturday and we've planned for a group of lads to hit Newcastle and tbh I'm scared and nervous about it all, especially the dress code! What usually goes? Was thinking a checkered shirt, jeans and some pumps, much like these? http://www.jonbarrie.co.uk/pumps-c23/original-penguin-brewton-canvas-pump-charcoal-p604

Will that be accepted into clubs? Also ive read a few people mention things about coats? I mean I will have to bring one as we are coming from Leeds but what will happen when we all turn up with smart coats on?

Yeah mate that is fine for clubs! There will be a lot of Geordies about on a Saturday with their low cut V-necks, but a fair few will be in similar attire to you! You just put a coat in the cloakroom in a club! Usually 2-3 pounds! Or leave it in your hotel if you are staying in one! Despite what people say, Newcastle is not THAT cold.

Yeah they will! Haha Just be careful not to wind up the pretty boys as they may take you for Newcastle students, and some do not like us! Yeah it is usually cheap. Entry varies between £5-7 and on a Saturday definitely Digital or Riverside! Also, if you are going to riverside go to bar 38 beforehand where you get three trebles for a fiver! Clubs shut at 3-4.
slutty as ya can get!
see Geordie Shore for tips ...

And 3-4! Shiiitt haha we arent staying over getting first train back at 8 o clock, **** life is there anything to do after then or are we going to have to sit in the train station for 4 hours lmao?

Iv lived in Newcastle all my life and been "clubbing" for 5 years most weekends.
1. Do not wear a coat. No matter what. You will stand out and only few clubs had cloakrooms. Don't bother just freeze, we all do.
2. The shoes are fine but make sure none of your mates are wearing white trainers as some places won't let you in.
3. Don't wear a v-neck t-shirt, you will get the piss taken out of you.
4. Don't go to the bigg market or the gate. It's rough as **** and minging.
5. Book a taxi, don't go to central station and expect to walk into a taxi you will be there for 2 hours freezing.
You will have the best night of your life, it's a amazing city and I'm really proud to call it home. If you've got any more questions al happily answer.

Hmm they are fairly central, Newcastle is quite a compact city! Haha you could hit the casino possibly? Alternatively you go do the common Newcastle thing and find someone on the night!

The gay scene is open until 6am, I you are willing to go there. Other than that the casino is a okay option, and no probs. also about the coats. The train sation might have bike storage tin things that cost about a fiver, could you not dump all your coats in there, then once your done the night go back and get them? I'm pretty sure some metro stations have them so you could ring them or ring and enquire about central station? Have a good night

If I was hitting Digital on a Saturday I would probably hit sinners and/or basement then head on. If I was hitting Riverside I would hit Bar 38 and or Vic 22's then head on! You could also try Mimo's which is closeish to both of them! As for the rest I have not been to them so can not help you there sorry!

My options are probably easier but there is no reason you can not do that! Taxis are dirt cheap in Newcastle!
