Please tell me i am wrong. From reading the grade boundaries and mark schemes, to get an overall grade A in as chemistry you have to get 120 ums in both unit 1 and unit 2 to get the grade A ? which is full marks (80 marks) in a unit 1 & 2 chemistry paper?????!!!

There is a practical exam worth 60 UMS.
    120+120+60=300

    You need 240/300 UMS.

Take a look at this, this is from 2013
    http://www.edexcel.com/iwantto/Docum...0final%203.pdf

It also tells you, the UMS points needed to get an A which is 240

You were probably confusing the raw mark with the UMS mark

You don't need full raw or UMS marks to get an A.
