i think ppl get there 30th sept and freshers week is 1/10 for 5 days...not as good as the UCL one, apparently its 15 days of freshers there! that totally rocks i wish ours were that long. Nevamind, someone will rea this and reassure us that freshers week is ace at cambridge...? what do ppl do?

Just had a letter from Robinson saying arrival is Saturday 30th September.

Jeez, these guys are organised... I haven't even got my grades yet!

Freshers week differs college to college as that's where the activities are orgnaised. I don't think freshers is all that exciting- i've made far more fun for myself in Cambridge than the college ever organised. It's basically just a chance to get you settled in with alcohol and a bunch of people you've never met and won't necessarily ever see again, nothing spectacularly entertaining.

It's all about may week really. But freshers week was pretty fun. Different colleges are different, but I've never heard of one that does a bad job

its more like freshers' few days. i thought it was a bit crap tbh. but then i dont really like clubbing/drinking. i spent most of it hanging out in peoples' rooms. that was fun, but it didnt only happen in freshers' week!

but its what you make of it i think.

Mine was only about two and a half days long, as by the Tuesday morning I'd met my supervisor, was going to lectures (ah, remind me what those are again?) and readign for my first essay.

I really wish I'd not gone so OTT with work teh first week- I had a completely wrong conception of how much was involved. Still, I enjoyed the little I had a lot.

It's really what you make of it. Robinson's can easily be stretched out to a week (from the Saturday you arrive to the end of Corruption the following Friday). I think it's more fun in your second year. I did 100 units of alcohol in 5 days.

My freshers week lasted 2 weeks... from the saturday i arrived to the next friday was the official college one and then it is meant to be the uni one but usually most people have work by then so dont go out every night... my department being terrible at organising anything, i got my first supervision in week 4 or 5 so i didnt get set work until then so i enjoyed the uni 2nd week of freshers week! but tbh my all year has been a freshers week and now paying for it heavily! but done in now 10 days!

20 units a day... that would probably have me unconscious. Pretty good eh!
