I have a Vista PC and now I'm going to upgrade to Windows 8 for my schooling, it will be a multi-purpose etc and I will need it preferably for Gaming and Programming as it seems as if I'm going to do Computer Science next year and I would like Office on it to, but I will find a way past that . Any suggestion for under £350, I don't mind which company it's from.

    Thanks guys for the help

If it's for next year, then I'd recommend waiting until pretty much the latest you can leave it before you need it, by then you will be able to get a better spec machine for the same price.

For £350 you will not game and running programs you've written will be slow.

You can get Microsoft Office pretty cheap - as long as you're a student, you can buy Microsoft University which basically has all Microsoft program's like Word for 2PCs for 4years and you can get it for about £50-£60 (you pay that just once, not every year for 4years). You'll have to verify your student status though - either with an NUS/ISIC card number or your email address at your place of study

Wait till you need it................. your budget is also very low.
Also remember to get dreamspark, computer science all get it at uni, which gives you access to free copies of Windows 7, 8, etc........Office will also cost so think about a free alternative like open office, etc
