Hi everybody, I had an interview at Keele University for Adult Nursing on March 15th and I was told I would hear between 3 and 4 weeks! They told me they make the decision on the day of interview and send it straight to Ucas, so my application is in Ucas's hands at the moment.
Does anybody know if i will be expected hear over the Easter holidays, as this coming week is the 3rd week?
Does anybody have any clear idea how it works at all, or just in general what happens after interview?
Keele have been chasing me a week after my interview for a second reference, is that a good sign?

When a Uni makes a decision, either the Admissions Tutor or an Admissons Office person will enter it onto the University's system. It then 'goes to UCAS'. UCAS then transfers it (usually on an overnight update) to Track. This process can take over a week to accomplish. This is assuming that the Uni made a decision immediately, that any paper work didnt get held up because of part-time hours. bank holidays, weekends, Easter leave etc etc, and that all data systems are working up to speed with no problems etc etc. Often data entry, especially a busy times of the year, happens in batches. Despite what the Admissions Tutor told you, 'being sent to UCAS today' may not actually have been entirely true.
Most Unis will have closed at lunchtime last Thursday and wont reopen until Tuesday am earliest. Many academics are either on leave for Easter (they cant take holidays in term-time) or already in 'exam season' for their current students. All of these things will hold up the 'normal' passage of events described above.
If you havnt heard anything by lunchtime on Tuesday, give the Uni a ring and (politely) ask if they have made a decision and when you can expect to hear.
