I hope the grade boundaries are quite low this year as I do not think I got higher than 50. Are you planning on going to uni?
Yeah I want to go to Oxford! What about you

Full marks will probs 70 :-) like I said, it was not a difficult paper... Absolute beauty of a paper in fact!

    There's no way it'll be 70.

    Explain?

    This is what I remember
However the normal was at a a angle of 22 to the triangle you just drew so the actual angle of incidence is 22+ the angle of incidence you thought you got and therefore it is around 53>critical angle

    This is what I remember
No you had to add 30 to 22 to get 52, which is greater that the critical angle (50 or something), therefore it reflected

I want to go either Britsol or Warwick, my strongest subject is Maths so hopefully to do that as a degree. Good luck to you

yep that is what i got !! except that it refracted away from normal because it went into an optically less dense material

Who found this paper harder than January 2013?
the grade boundary for an A was 50 for Jan 13, what do you reckon this ones will be?
I think 120 UMS will be 63, so maybe 53 for an A

I may be wrong, but we won't know until the mark scheme comes out

    Explain?

    This is what I remember
You're diagram misses the part where the normal is an extra 22 degrees off bringing it over the critical angle. In fairness their diagram was confusing.

I don't know which angle you're talking about? What is 22?

I think everyone realised? I haven't seen any respond to it as if it were a double slit question.

OK so what would ur answer be?
For the very last part of the question?

    Thanks for your time

Yeah but you have to mention what type of seismic wave it is. Is it a primary or secondary

the diagram is wrong ... the normal was already drawn for u with a extra 22 degrees.

you had to add 30 (you were given this) and 22 (had to work this out - think there was an isosceles triangle or something) to get the angle of incidence (52)
