Well obviously you ex is a complete douchebag, so you are better off. The emotions you felt were real but you have to realize his respect and love for you were not. All I can say is try to focus your attention on something else and give yourself some space. In time you will be able to move and and hopefully meet somebody who isn't a fraud and will accept you for who you are.
