Work Experience at a GDP

I'm in year 12 and I live in London. I want to study dentistry at Uni and I've been trying to find work experience with NO LUCK! I've literally called more than 90 dental practices in London, and like 8 of them told me to email them. So far none of them have replied and its been 3 weeks. Where do I go from here? :frown: If you live in London and have done WE at a practice, please tell me where! Thanks

The dentist secretaries will most likely just ignore you. Try actually speaking to dentists, maybe your own dentist. If not, try in a hospital for WE in maxillo-facial and oral surgery - they may have work experience programmes already set up.

Thanks for the tip! Are you a dentist hopeful or a dental student?

I would say write a letter explaining who you are and your plans and requesting your work experience, I had a few different letters depending on what it was (dental lab, ortho, community, GDP ect.) and then I drove to towns and typed dentist into my phone and went to each practice and asked to see the practice manager, had a chat/ dropped off my letter. Maybe I had it easy but I only had to do that with a couple of small close towns, once I did my first week experience one of the dentists put me in touch with other more specialist dentists he knew so I got to see some more advanced stuff as I went on.
