    The Question is....

If v=4t-3t2 and the body is at O initially,

    i) find a in terms of t
ii) find s in terms of t
iii) what is the value of t when the body next passes O?

    My Answers....

    i) a=4-6t
    ii) s=2t2-t3

However part iii) has completely stumped me, can anyone help me!

Well you have an equation for s, and you know the value of s when the body is at O...

Factorise the equation you have for s. Set s = 0 this will give you the answer the book gets.
