1. The Question is....

If v=4t-3t2 and the body is at O initially,

i) find a in terms of t
ii) find s in terms of t
iii) what is the value of t when the body next passes O?

i) a=4-6t
ii) s=2t2-t3

However part iii) has completely stumped me, can anyone help me!

Well you have an equation for s, and you know the value of s when the body is at O...
3. Thanks for replying and I've tried using the equation for s but its probably just me but i don't know what the value for it while it is O

S = 0 at O
5. That's what i thought but somehow the answer in the back of the book is 2, how does that work?

Factorise the equation you have for s. Set s = 0 this will give you the answer the book gets.
7. Thanks!! I should of known that, i always forget to do that!
