Im really confused why in the mark scheme it says cyclic hydrocarbon with 8 carbons only 10 hydrogens which is 8 less than a branched isomer of octane. Can someone explain please?

    Isnt cycloctane c8h16?

Because when its a cyclic you lose hydrogen s because all the carbons are connected together in a ring and so they can't form any more bonds to hold hydrogens
