I was wondering: since many (most...?) stress-related illnesses are caused by stressors, i.e. environmental conditions or stimuli, have such illnesses become more common in the last century along with the massive technological developments we've seen?
Surely with the amount of information we're bombarded with these days, and the huge amount of work required to keep everything running smoothly, people develop such illnesses more easily than, say, the pre-1900s?
And when did stress first become a medically-recognised condition anyway?
And actually passed?
