Is anyone gonna go to the V festival?

I can't remember the full lineup but the ones are remember that have been confirmed so far are:

    Muse
    The Strokes
    The Pixies
    Dido
    Kings of Leon
    Primal Scream
    Pink
    Jamie Callum

There are more, but my memory isn't too good. and they were only announced this morning! (well yesterday)

I want tickets!! They go on sale on saturday, but at 90 something pounds each I don't know yet if I'm gonna go... but then it is a weekend event so it is worth the money.... ok. debate time. should I go or not? lol.

£90+ for a weekend event when you can spend a full 6 days a Glastonbury for only £120 (including booking/postage).

Although V95 (or was it 96 - it was the first year anyway and we only went to one day at Warrington) was my first festival (saw pulp, the longpigs and a bundle of other britpop bands) - it's a nice clean safe introduction I suppose...although I was dragged along by my mum (but then my friend and me did manage to convince a bunch of drunk lads that we were Jarvis's love children )

I couldn't get the link to work (possibly dodgy uni computers...).

The lineup's also on V Festival website and on ThisIsEssex.co.uk (after much link clicking).

I'm going to Chelmsford this year, I went to Weston last year

I'm going...hopefully (have no pennies but hell, whats an overdraft for?!). Just spoken to one of my freinds who's in Thailand at the moment (the wonders of internet technology and MSN) who comes back in June and managed to talk her into coming too! Yay!

I would like to do Glastonbury, as a lot of the (rumoured) line-up are playing V, but the Friday of Glasto is the day i'm going to see the Chili's in London, and also I don't think I could managed 6 days in a tent in a feild without a decent wash!

Thats what wet wipes and dry shampoo is for!!! (plus there are showers in the greenpeace field and the kids field )

(I know what you mean though - if it wasn't for Glasto I don't think I'd do it)

So not only have they picked a load of pop crap, but the two headliners are probably the best they could get, therefore preventing them from turning up at Reading. So Reading will be crap too. Sigh.

    AC/DC
    Beastie Boys

I dunno a singalong of beatles songs could be quite a laugh (my highlight from last yr was a field of very wasted people singing along to bohemian rhapsody played by the glastonbury town band at 11Am on a sunday morning ...or and everyone singing along to electric 6's radio gaga cover  )

Reading = Gig in a carpark

A festival where you get sent back to your tent at a predetermined time is not a festival
