    Hello there,

    Name: Venn diagram problem.png
Views: 185

I am having this issue with this problem above. They want me to shade in the parts (AnB)uC. The answer in the answerbook is no shading at all. I don't understand this. I think that it is the whole of C shaded as AnB doesn't exist and u means or which would meant nothing or C.

Could someone explain this to me?

    Thanks in advance,

    A.T.

AnB is anything in both A and B, since there is no part inside A AND B nothing is to be shaded

But it says Union C, which means or C. So it can be nothing or C, or am I just talking rubbish?

    ...
    In this case:

    (A\cap B)\cup C=(\varnothing) \cup C=\varnothing\cup C = C
