    Rock and metal I assume.

Lifer by Down. It's a classic. Nola is the greatest metal album ever made.

I wouldn't go as far as the greatest but it is incredible. Easily my favourite album Phil Anslemo has done.

    Where to begin!?

N.I.B. By Black Sabbath (as well as paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath etc)

    Walk by Pantera

    Peace Sells by Megadeth

Just about anything from Master of Puppets

    Hallowed Be Thy Name
    Holy Diver
    Kashmir
    Black Dog
    Carry On My Wayward Son
    More Than A Feeling
    Back In Black
    Crazy Train

Picking a favourite is too hard!

Seriously, walk by pantera? Although I love that song, it is an anthem more than a great pantera tune. I mean you have got the whole of cowboys from hell that is perfection. You've got shattered which displays phils vocal ability, you've got cemetery gates which has a killer solo. No denying that vulgar is an awesome album but walk is definitely not the best pantera song you could have chosen.

However, your megadeth selection is good! I love that song it's a classic. But rust in peace is the best album with Lucretia and tornado of souls and rust in peace Polaris which are 3 of the most interesting metal songs ever made I mean, 'I spread disease like a dog, discharge my payload' what an awesome lyric.

    Love megadeth and pantera.

I agree with you about Walk, I prefer CFH and the CFH album, I just thought Walk more suited to headbanging (as it mentions in the thread title) but now that I think about it, you could headbang to all Pantera pretty much!

Dime was such a great guitarist, RIP

If you've never heard the version of Paranoid Ozzy Osbourn did live with Randy Roads you really need to hear it. Totally ramps up the song.

You are right there, he was one of the greatest ever to have lived. glad you agree. I do get rather passionate with my views on pantera. It's because I love them so much but I love phil anselmo's voice most of all: He's a legend, even though he does hit himself on the head with the microphone.

A good headbanger would be Refuse/resist - Sepultura.

It's too difficult to choose a song, but basically anything by iron maiden.

as for the headbanging thing, don't worry if it's not a headbanger, the thread's more or less an appreciation of rock music from the past I love anything with an incredible guitar riff
