If glycogen is required anywhere in the body then the amylase in the blood will break this down, rendering the glycogen useless.

Amylase is an enzyme, which is responsible for the breakdown of starch to sugars. It basically does not enter the bloodstream and when it does, poses no harm to the body because there is no starch for it to breakdown. It's main purpose is to breakdown the starches in the digestive system - it's mainly found in the salivary glands (mouth) and the pancreas, where it is mixed with chyme in the small intestine with other enzymes.

    Hope this helped

I hope you realise amylase isn't supposed to be in the blood... i mean, there is inevitably some leak but its not intentional!
