Hello, this is my first ever post ho ho ha ha, ahhhhhhh!... er ehem, just ignore that, it's the medication you know.

Well, if there are any geographers out there i would appreiciate some help.

I ahve some homework that i amreally stuck with; does anyone have a short explanation on what is meant by biomass????
Please?
I have loads of scientific views on it but none from the geography point of view.

I also need to know, why people in LEDC's rely upon it, and two environmental problems it causes.

Is there anyone who can help??!

Thanx alot

aparantly the world is divided up into 8 ecosystem types, and these large-scale ecosystems are called biomes. A major variation between the biomes is the amount of things living there (biomass). Biomass is measured in grams per squared metre. So in shanty towns in LEDCs there is gona be a very large biomass so you get unsanitary conditions and i dunno what another affect wouold be! hope that helps.
