How do people get their minds off of breakups?
    Rebounds is not an option.

First, you need to stop being reminded of the ex. Cut off as much contact as you can with them to begin with, let yourself forget - delete their number, remove them on Facebook, don't hang out at places they like to hang out at. If they're in the same class as you or something else forces you to see them, then just ignore them for all non-essential communications, bare minimum contact. Don't even look at them. Delete all the conversations and texts and photos.

Secondly, you need something to put your mind on. Find something to take up your time with - have fun. Try making new friends, or having quality times with old friends. You could have days out, go walking, learn a new skill, play video games, read books, absolutely whatever you want! If you've broken up you'll have more time to do these things too.
