I've been like this for about 6 months now, it started off as just regular sleep disruption with no pain anywhere whatsoeevr like i'd wake up maybe twice during the night but over the past couple of months it's gone worse, I'm waking up with really bad burning/acheing abdominal pain it's upper abdominal pain sort of feels like it's between my stomach and my oesophagus. I woke up this morning in agony for three hours desperate to sleep but couldn't lie down because it would start again. I thought i was going to vomit as well. Also I keep burping but it tastes of vomit? Sorry to be gross.

It sounds like it might be acid reflux or some other problem with stomach acid. I had gastritis last year (inflamed stomach due to too much acid) and had exactly the same thing-it's to do with the way the acid settles when you lie down that irritates it more than the rest of the time.
Get yourself to your GP and they should be able to sort it out.

I agree with Heidigirl

I have Crohn's Disease and I get this. You need to see a Doctor, there is something not normal. It could be anything but i'm sure in your case it's probably a minor gastro thing.

Go see a doctor, I doubt there are many people on TSR with the ability to diagnose you properly

First of all: see a doctor! I really can't understand how people rather post on the internet about 'really bad pain' than seeing a specialist.
And yes, it pretty much sounds like strong reflux, due to the location of the pain and the fact that it gets worse when you lie down. This could either be just reflux or a symptom of something worse, so see a doctor!

As a rule, always go to the doctor for pain which wakes you up at night.
This does sound very strongly like gastric (stomach) reflux, which isn't much to worry about (reflux disease of some form is very common and does not particularly suggest anything seriously harmful going on), but you should still get checked out, if only because the symptoms are quite severe and you'd be happier controlling/getting rid of them!
