# Proofs required for C1/C2/S1/S2/FP1/D1 watch

C2 - would be very helpful if you knew how to prove the geometric series as that came up when I took it

S1 - nope

FP1 - only proofs you need to know are for induction and there are techniques for it

Can't speak for S2 and D1

Hi, I am with the Edexcel exam board.

Can anyone suggest any proofs that we must derive - any that has a possibility of coming up this summer?

My current list:

C1
Proof of the sum of an arithmetic sequence
Proof of the sum of the first n positive integers

C2
Proof of the sum of a geometric series
It worth considering how you get from this formula to the sum to infinity one. I would also learn the proofs for the trig identities.

S1
?

S2
How to derive the formula for Var(X), F(X) in a continuous uniform distribution

FP1
Only the topic proof by induction, although I guess this is slightly different to what you were asking for.

D1
Handshake thingy?
I don't think you need to know the proof for this.

Just read the specification. Any proofs that are required are clearly stated in the module information.

Well they're not given to you in the formula book if that's what you mean, there are only 2 that you need to learn for C2 anyway so it's not really alot of work
