1. page 17 question 3a

is the question worded incorrectly or am i misunderstanding?

'given that the ratio of the area of the shaded segment to the area of the triangle is 1:4'

i understand this as the the area of the segmend = 4x the area of the triangle...

right or wrong?

3. No, the area of the triangle is 4x the area of the segment.

I.e if the area of the shaded bit was 'y'. Then the area of the triangle is '4y'.

THe area of segment TO the area of triangle = 1 : 4
when Segment area =1
then Triangle area =4
Ratio=Segment/Trianlge=1/4=1:4
