Having originally applied for modern languages I recently decided that I would prefer (and that it would be better for career prospects) to do a degree in economics instead. Having contacted Nottingham they have said that although they can't change my course now there is a chance I will be able to switch on results day, assuming that I get at least A*AA which are the typical entry requirements, but they have also said that this is no guarantee as it depends on the offer holders' results as to whether they'll have places regardless of my grades. I have also contacted Southampton about this who have immediately changed my languages conditional offer to economics. From what I've heard though, Southampton is quite an average uni for economics in comparison, so I wondered if Nottingham didn't let me change having got A*AA would it be worth taking a gap year and re-applying to Nottingham next year? I really like both places so I am mostly thinking in terms of career prospects. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks
