I'm an international student who will have to do a Foundation Course in order to apply for an University in the UK.
As I do not plan to work in the UK, I was thinking I should go to either Manchester or Edinburgh, because of their better position in the world rankings. Between those two, I'd choose Manchester because of the Industrial Placement year (do you guys think this year is worth it?).
However, a lot of people are saying that Warwick is a better Uni, and I'm now I'm considering it. My only concern is its low ranking, as I fear employers would not look at it the same way they would at Manchester or Edinburgh.
Also, some say that Bath is great because of its student satisfaction and its Industrial Placement with renowned companies, which would be another attractive factor. Again, just like Warwick, I'm afraid it wouldn't have the same international prestige as the others.
Considering this, what would you advise me? Please, do suggest other interesting universities, as I'm all open to opinions. I'm also considering the best place to live, although that isn't the main factor.
Thank you very much for your answers!

Hi, i was in exactly the same position as you and i'll be doing my foundation before moving on to undergrad. I was considering the same uni's as you are right now and finally chose Bath. Why? It depends what kind of experience you want to have. I always wanted a typical university life on campus etc.. Whilst not wanting to be 'away from civilization'. I was stuck between Edinburgh, warwick and bath. Where bath and Edinburgh were my first choices! (First love uni's) i visited them all last year and came to decide that: Edinburgh is pretty but too cold and too far from London. Warwick is also very pretty but is in a warwickshire an actual hole up north ( lol) whereas bath is 15-20mins from bristol and around an hour and half from london! Also bath has a progression rate to undergrad of 98% where their foundation year is of a higher level. Moreover bath has head hunters from big companies and they offer PAID internships. I'll be returning to my country as well, but don't be fooled by world rankings! The difference between bath and other universities is that bath is a renowned in its particular field of expertise; sciences and finance and architecture! Hope it helps, feel free to message me if you need more insight, i'm in exactly the same boat as you
