Ok so I have an interview next week for a qualified nurse position, its my first interview since qualifying but Ive convinced myself that Im not going to it. The person interviewing was a staff nurse when i was on placement and it just makes the interview awkward. Ive read some interview questions for qualifieds and have not a clue how to answer them some dont even make sense to me. I keep telling myself I dont want to be a nurse (Im not 100% passionate and am scared of all the accountability) and am totally lost as to what to do. Ive been looking at healthcare assistant jobs and similar but at the same time I want a long term goal/career to aim for.

Am I being a wimp or would you not blame me for going to the interview if im thinking of other careers?

Mental health nursing, finished last september. I was thinking of a career in psychology, maybe psychological wellbeing therapist. The job ive applied for involves actually working with psychologists as a nurse but I had my mind set on not going to the interview on monday and so havent prepared for it. I know im stupid its how i am!

I dont understand how it would be awkward, if anything seeing as it sounds like you know the person and the place fairly well it should be easier on you. Right now it just sounds like nerves. Just go to the interview and if you dont know the answer just be honest about it but preparing as much as you can will really help out. If it doesnt work out then it doesnt work out, at least you made and effort. Plus it will be good interview experiance for you.

Why did you not have your mindset for the interview?

    How did it go?
