    Technical middle class

    This is a small, distinctive and prosperous new class group. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

    • Mix socially with people similar to themselves
    • Work in research, science and technical fields
    • Enjoy emerging culture such as going to the gym and using social media

    That was a very short test. My result was Elite.

    "Enjoy high cultural activities such as visiting museums and listening to classical music
    Went to private school and elite universities
    Socialise with people who do a wide variety of jobs"

    I didn't actually go to private school though, where I'm from there are no private schools below university level.

    No option for:

    Living at home.

    Has about £20 in the bank.

    Going to go to university.

    The majority of my friends are waitresses etc but at university.

    Established middle class

    This is the most gregarious and the second wealthiest of all the class groups. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

    Enjoy a diverse range of cultural activities
    Went to university
    Are comfortably off, secure and established

    Well...that test didn't make any sense.

    Elite. But only the bit about private schooling applies to me. The last point doesn't really apply as the careers mostly fall into three categories. Most of my friends' parents are either doctors, own their own business or are network engineers

    *Likes this thread! *

    I did the test and got:

    New affluent workers
    This class group is sociable, has lots of cultural interests and is in the middle of all the class groups in terms of wealth. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

    * Are young
    * Come from a working class background
    * Own their own home

    I also got this when I reduced my answers to just include info about myself and close friends, rather than include my family (as I did with the above result):

    I love experimenting x

    Precariat :blush:

    Agree with the fact that I came from working class background because none of my family went to University because at those times Universities were a luxury and not everyone could afford to go to them. I was the first one who went to University

    I would say I come under the sheer class category.
