1. I have attached the question:

I can do each question apart from d.

a. 9.43ms^-1
b. (2+5t)i + (1+8t)j
c. 1.6s

for d, I have subbed in 1.6s to find the position vector of the ball, to get
10i + 13.8j

I know I need to find the distance of the second runner, however I don't know how to do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The question tells you where the player starts running from (point B) and you have worked out where he finishes above.

So you can find his displacement from that.

This is consistent with the fact the player is running due north, as his velocity has no i component.
