On Tuesday evening I had a random bout of vomiting and explosive diarrhoea and have now got a haemorrhoid. I've never had one of these before. I'm living in France and very busy, the last thing I want to do is faff around paying through the nose to see a doctor. Do these things tend to go away on their own, especially if it's the first one? And if not, am I OK leaving it another couple of weeks till I get home to the wonderful NHS?

I would appreciate some responses to this one as every time the pile seems to be getting better I have to take a **** and that certainly irritates it, if not inflames it.

According to this http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Haemorr...pens-page.aspx it should go on its own in a few days. Theres lots of tips on there for self care of haemorrhoids.
