# C4 Algebra and functions help Watch

1. How do I go about doing this,

Given that (x^2-a)(3x-2) = 3x^3+bx^2=cx+10, find the values of a, b and c?

Thanks

You need to equate coefficients of the different powers of x.

on the LHS and on the RHS, then a=5.

Does that make sense?

equating coefficients:

you could work out a and b easily from here and sub a into -3ax=-cx to get c
